Gemini birthday explosion #2

This is slightly mis-named because one is for a June Gemini, but the other is my sister-in-law whose birthday fell a few weeks ago when she was away. The Japanese influenced one is for my brother-in-law whose birthday is any day now. I've put them together because the family is all getting together this week to celebrate the other two Gemini birthdays, mine and my son's, over the next couple of days. Haven't made my son's card this year as I found the perfect quirky one at Readings (in Carlton) the other day....hope he remembers to sneak into the busy room to make one for me.

I love the Taylored Expressions window and I think it looks better with these flowers with it. They're SU Eastern Blooms with a grey pearl in the centre of each one. The background went through the cuttlebug to simulate timber. Looks like I was drawn to these colours for both... even the ink for the monkey which is from a set of chinese stamps featuring the 12 years. I looked up the characteristics of people born in the year of the monkey, and it suits my brother-in-law to a T. The creamy coloured paper is the last piece of papyrus in my stash.

  1. Love these too - you are on a roll! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you too!!! Have a FABULOUS day and a great catch up with your family. And you'll have to post the card you son gets for you - if he makes it - LOL.

  2. These are both very lovely cards, and you have put so much thought into them. Lucky recipients!

Happy Birthday wishes to you too :-)!!!! I hope you have a lovely week.

Did you ever find the photo you mentioned (in a comment to me) that you captured, the one with the face and two reflections (in the mirror and on the bench top)? I'd love to see it some time if you do.

    Best wishes,

  3. PS. Where do you buy papyrus from?

  4. You have been REAL busy stamping cards! Love these GEMS... you have such great taste on selecting your colors Carolann!! YOU GO GIRL... always putting a smile on my face!! :)

  5. Aren't you the lucky one for knowing some Geminis?(I'm one) (giggle)

You do such lovely cards love coming over here to be inspired!

  6. Thanks so much for your caring words and thoughts Carolann. It has been a difficult time but it's always so nice to have so many people that care. I hope you have a wonderful catch up with your family for your birthday.

I'm so looking forward to later this year when they have that mini SU convention so I can meet some of my new card making friends.

  7. Oh, and I nearly forgot to acknowledge that you are a Gemini too - don't know WHEN your birthday is but happy birthday!

  8. I always get a smile when reading your posts! What a great way to start my day, catching up with your latest creations. (And, by the way, I was just thinking about the "cat" post, and you definitely KNOW cats!)

Wonderful cards...simple with lovely color. And HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! Geminis are big in my life, including my son Clay, grandmother-in-law, mother-in-law, and a dear friend. No wonder we get along so well!!!
