OG 155 Bicycle built for two....

When I was small, my grandmother sang only one song that I remember, and it was...

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do.
I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It wont be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet
Upon the seat
......of a bicycle built for two."

So this challenge was meant for me (thank you Poobahs) and my ATC is a tiny tribute to my one-of-a-kind grandmother and her light voice gifting me this song in my memory.

I found the image on the 'net... was it really a stamp?  And the honeycomb cardstock is from one of the beautiful TE kits I'm still hoarding. See other interpretations here.....

Opus Gluei #154 Colour Challenge

Every now and then these ladies throw down the gauntlet and its hard to walk away..........well, its easy to walk away but then I feel guilty. Afterall, what could be hard about playing with paper?  EVERYTHING, when you're not allowed to use your favourite things.  So I ventured down the page a little, fell in love with Rosemary's beautiful fiery orange bookmarks........and had to play along.

First, an ATC the opposite of my usual colour choice - shades of cream, and finally a place to use a piece of lacy doily plus a bit of bling for interest.  It seemed a shame to cut into such a big piece of paper for the tiny scrap if music I used, so I kept cutting and came up with a second thought which took me down another unexpected path - PINK. So far out of my comfort zone I'm beginning to gasp for air!!  And even some hologram glitter (well, just a wee tiny flash)....and as I put the boxes away a piece of chain caught in my sleeve and became the inspiration for the third.

Enough, I'm exhausted and having to sit in a darkened room to recover from so many colours in the same post.  Please can I go back to black next time?

Don't forget to see what all the other people have been up to too...........

Happy Birthdays

I seem to be channeling something floral........  Even the cuttlebug has had a workout while I make up more flowers to replace all the ones I'm using.

What HAS got into me?

You oughtta be in pictures... OG 151

My favourite Blues Bros.
I can't believe that the first time I saw this movie I thought it was the greatest waste of time.........where was my head?  Since then it has become a family legend, along with Ghostbusters (now what does that say about our family??).  There's a lovely old vintage theatre near me, and it shows lovely old vintage movies, and some new ones too.  On Friday night "The Blues Brothers" was playing, as it does about four times every year.  The photo I've included here was taken a few years ago when my son and his mates went to a screening, and OF COURSE they dressed the part, just as we continue to do now (but that's NOT a photo I'm sharing).

Oh and I did make something too.... a very minimalist ATC.  I had in mind to make a whole Blues Bros collection but time got away from me, so its just one, and not very exciting at that.  Sorry ladies!! Read on....

Bling it on........

So if last week was the toes in the water, this must be at least up to my ankles........

Bling it on indeed:  iridescent leaves, flowers with diamonds in their centres, silver stars in the gaps!  That's my version of bling.  An ATC, and not a pearl in sight, though I was tempted, and no glitter because I cant see the work bench as it is and if I cover what I CAN see in glitter, I might just have to move!  That would be w-a-y too many layers of things to put away.

This is the 149th challenge from the OG Poobahs - what next for the milestone?

PINK!!

Oh its been s-o-o-o-o long since I played.  Hello Poobahs, I'm back!  Some things however, do not change....and I still have the same trouble with colour that I always had.  However, I did find some pink bits and pieces lurking, and even a heart shaped punch....just to show that I haven't completely forgotten how to use one.

This is an ATC because small things are interesting to put together (and I didn't have to use so much pink!!).....hope its okay.  This small creation is for the lovely ladies at Opus Gluei and their most recent challenge - its number 148!!  Wow, that's a lot.

Happy Birthday Mum

Toe in the creative waters time.......  "Not feeling like it" is no excuse when it comes to Mum's birthday, so it was time to concentrate.  I've become quite fond of squares in groups so here's a collection of black and white papers, along with her favourite green.  I'm rather keen on that green ribbon too, but you cant keep everything for ever....and where was that recycled black tissue hiding?

The mess in the background is the cluttered desktop.  Have to find time to tidy that one day soon.

Toe in the water.....

Have almost forgotten how to upload........its been such a long time since last I did.  My creativity has taken a beating this year but I have found some inspiration at my local artists outlet and Gallery, the delightful Opendrawer in Hartwell.  Every nook and corner of these rooms is filled with the quirky, the fascinating, the beautiful.....and all made by someone local.  To my great delight there are classrooms too and I find myself stretched gently in different directions.  Here's something I made at the first class.  A great way to use up a boring book, providing its spine is intact, and the paper is not too cheap - takes about an hour and a steady hand.  I love them.

Branching Out

........there are trees so dearly loved by Electra, and there are other branches in ones life too.  Some of the paths they take are not expected.  However, zendoodles fill all sorts of interesting spaces, and this one of mine fits the latest Opus Gluei challenge.

Thanks to a new friend who inspired me to fill some time doodling, this came to mind.  Amazing what you can accomplish in quiet evenings, armed only with paper, pen and a glass of wine (not compulsory, but good all the same....).  I do love ATCs, if for no other reason than they're little.

See what other people have created too......................
