Now you have to understand that I've suddenly had to get used to being back at work after holidays, and my brain is feeling ever so slightly fried...........
It would have been SO cool to paint with bubble wrap, or roll myself in it (hard to photograph)(and probably not a good look), or maybe wrap the cat......... or perhaps not. So in the end I solved the problem of keeping my book dry while I'm in the bath. And I got to use some of a lovely big roll of book binding tape that I've been hoarding. I re-used a bubble-wrap envelope by cutting it up and then stapling and taping it back together in a better shape. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't know which side of the book to pick up, so that's why there's an arrow on the front. This way up. And then of course it needed a bookmark that was fairly waterproof too, and reflected my love for reading.
This is so cool, and so clever - I'm typing this out at my little ole 'puter and thinking - what a smart idea! I love your take on this and you recycled and you have a useful item to boot...amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't late, we're messing about trying to figure out what's going to work. When we put the recap with the challenge it was a huge post and lots of info and it seemed to lose people - you know? So, we thought...hmmmm....we'd like to start doing more little things during the week - mini challenges, giveaways, and if we get our lovely groupeis coming over at other times then we all become more used to it....soooo....that's how the Saturday rewind started. I love adding projects to the thread, so please don't be discouraged. You're not late, the OG poobahs are just flaky (well, I'll speak for me,I'm flaky like that!)
and what a brave girl to even consider wrapping the cat - while it would have been some interesting photography - the amount of blood spilled and bandages required for our dear Carolann would have been too much for the sake of art!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL - only you would think to bubble wrap a book for the bath!!! What a fun take on the challenge!Am glad the cat got a reprieve though ;)

I think you're on to something here Carolann! You should start a little cottage industry and make these for sale! It's an awesome idea!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea!!!! Saves the book, keeps the pages dry and a nice way to mark your pages... You are inspiring Carolann!! I have seen DP's made using ink or acrylic paints with bubble wrap... a great look!! SMILES... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea! Very clever. I also got a chuckle out of the visuals on wrapping the cat/you in bubble wrap. It feels like that some days...

Sam.
You are so funny. Made me giggle with you wrapping the cat. Very clever project. I love that you thought ahead and put an arrow to signify the front. I would keep having to flip the book. I also LOVE that you keep [playing with us at Opus Gluei. Makes our challenges cool to have someone so creative join us. Thank You.
